Astrid & Arn went to their 3rd & 4th dog shows today in the Minor Puppy class. We hadn't done any show training indoors (with the exception of at home) so it was a completely different environment for them being indoors at KCC park. Both pups had a fantastic time but it took a bit to get the hang of the slippery floor and they were far too excited to just walk around the ring and stand nicely! Astrid got a good look in for the reserve bitch challenge during the Spitz show which was absolutely amazing. Astrid took out Minor Puppy of Breed against her brother, and did well in the In Show lineup but gave her best sparkly focus-face in the opposite direction to a couple of sparrows that had flown into the building just as the judge was looking at her! Of course it had to be her favourite type of bird ever.
The FLCV open show started out with Arn doing an almost well behaved walk around the ring for his class, followed by the worlds biggest & most amusing happy dance the entire time he was in the dog challenge line up! Astrid was a bit all over the place and far too excited to be in the ring but she did manage to fit in a few well behaved steps and she managed to stand still for at least a few seconds in the bitch challenge lineup. For the minor puppy runoff Arn ran along with almost perfect focus & took Minor Puppy in Show with Astrid taking Opposite Minor Puppy in Show!
Thanks to everyone who helped us out on the day and special thanks to Sue for making sure we were at the ring when we were supposed to be, Leah for trying to keep Arn entertained beside the ring, and to Jacq for making Arn look like the most well behaved puppy ever as soon as she took his lead!
