Squishy-Kino and I ventured down to Awesome Paws for a foundation workshop class this morning where we were lucky enough to be paired up with Shareen & Summer. Dukino did a fantastic job on all of the stations, and I am especially proud of her for her work on the balance board and the fitpaws as she usually isn't a big fan of things like that. She even got some celebratory nuggies for her efforts today!
As many of you know from following along on Facebook, the entire Alpha Litter became suddenly ill with an unknown virus and we were left with only Astrid & Arn. I want to say thank you to everyone for your support while we were going through such a tough time, and for your continuing support as well! Astrid & Arn have recovered completely at this point and have been enjoying their lives as much as two spoilt pups possibly can!
This even involved their first holiday week away with all of us heading to Portland over Easter. The pups also made their débuts in the show ring at Mount Gambier on the Friday and Sunday with Arn handled by Deb & Astrid handled by myself. They both did really well in the ring considering it was a very last minute decision to enter! Astrid took Baby of Breed both days over Arn, with a critique from Friday's judge that she was much better put together at this point in time - which is very true considering the poor little man is all legs! Arn showed wonderfully for Deb and had even better focus for his second go on Sunday so I am definitely looking forward to to him going in the ring with her again in the future as they workd together so well! Astrid did a lovely bunny hop and zoomies combination for both shows with a tiny bit of walking mixed in. No surprise there! A number of pages on the website have been updated with different odds & ends. Jaska & Dukino's pages have been updated to include a few of their conformation and sledding results and some new photos, and Arn & Astrid now have their own pages. A number of photos have been added to our photos page, with many more to go up! We'll most likely be taking it easy for the rest of the year & will hopefully be making updates a little more regularly now that things are settling down. |
